About SWE Resume

Resume software built around engineering evidence

SWE Resume is a focused resume builder for software engineers. It helps candidates turn real technical work into clear, ATS-readable resumes without inventing experience or hiding important tradeoffs.

What the product does

Candidates can import an existing PDF resume into the connected builder, compare it with a job description, improve technical bullets, organize sections, and export a clean PDF. Focused free tools also accept DOCX or TXT where noted. The product is intentionally narrower than a general career platform: it concentrates on software engineering, data, infrastructure, security, product engineering, and adjacent technical roles.

Generate

Turn rough experience and project notes into a structured engineering resume.

Tailor

Compare the resume with a real job description and prioritize relevant evidence.

Format

Use restrained layouts designed for readable text extraction and human scanning.

Check

Review keywords, document structure, section clarity, and common parsing risks.

How we make product and editorial claims

Product documentation describes capabilities that are available in the current application. Pricing is taken from the live subscription configuration. Comparisons are checked against publicly available product information and dated when details can change.

We distinguish document parsing from applicant-tracking-system behavior. A PDF extracting cleanly in an open-source parser is useful evidence, but it is not certification from Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, or another proprietary system. Our research pages state that limitation directly.

Resume suggestions should improve the presentation of work a candidate actually performed. The product should not add employers, skills, metrics, credentials, or project outcomes that the candidate cannot support.

Markus reviews selected recruiting guidance and provides feedback on how technical experience is presented. Product development also includes direct engineering experience inside a FAANG company. These backgrounds inform the product; they do not certify acceptance by every ATS or guarantee an interview.

Editorial standards

  • Prefer concrete examples and reproducible methods over unsupported rankings.
  • Identify commercial relationships and product limitations where they matter.
  • Use clear organization or named-reviewer bylines so readers know who is responsible for the guidance.
  • Correct material errors when product behavior, pricing, or evidence changes.
  • Avoid publishing private resume content, personal data, or user-level analytics.

Research and corrections

Our first public benchmark tests how controlled resume layouts behave in two open-source PDF extraction engines. The fixtures, expected fields, results, and generation script are available so the result can be checked rather than taken on trust.
